Finding and Using the Pivot Table Wizard in Excel 2007+

If  you’ve tried to make a pivot table using data from multiple worksheets in excel 2007 + you’ve probably noticed that the Pivot Table Wizard is no longer an option on the current menu, you only have the Create Pivot Table dialog below.

If you want to get the wizard as seen in earlier versions of Excel, the shortcut keys  Alt +D then P will bring up the Pivot Table Wizard.

*Note: Alt +D is the key combination to go back to Excel 2003 shortcut key commands and Alt+P is the command to open the Pivot Table Wizard in 2003.

Alternatively, if you do a lot of Pivot Tables you can add a button to the Quick Access Toolbar by clicking on the customize button (1)

Select More Commands then select All Commands (2) in the dropdown box.  Then simply scroll down to the command PivotTable and PivotChart Wizard (3), highlight it then click Add (4)

Once you’ve got the button, or the shortcut memorised it’s back to being able to easily make tables and charts using multiple ranges of data.
