It’s never a bad time to freshen up your business image, but sometimes it’s difficult to know where to start. Here are 4 things you can do to give your business a face lift and update your branding. You can pick just one to do for a quick change or do all four to more comprehensively freshen up your business image.
Pick your colours
Then write them down! Check out these colour palettes from Cava for colour inspiration; this infographic from Column Five to see what impression your chosen colours give; and this page from W3Schools to find out the correct colour codes in HEX (for websites and social media), RGB (for documents, spreadsheets and presentations) and PMS or CYMK (for printing) plus all other formats. Use the same colours on all of your printed material; online collateral; and anything else you associate with your business. It will make it easier for potential clients to recognise your business and keep you front of mind.
Update header images on your social media accounts
Make a Website Hub has the correct dimensions for social media images. Canva is a great site that will help you to design professional looking images for social media. Don’t forget to use your colours, logo and font in the design – or if you want something that looks totally different, make sure the design you use contrasts nicely with your chosen branding
Zhush up your letterhead
This post from Canva has some lovely examples to motivate you. Your letterhead doesn’t need to be super fancy, but do make sure that you use a similar style on all your collateral including; colours, logo and font to make everything immediately recognisable as coming from your business.
Get a new business photo
Mine is a couple of years old now. so it’s certainly something that’s on my to-do list. It’s recommended that you should get a new photo every year. If that’s too often for you, you really should at the very least get a new photo done if you lose weight, radically change your hairstyle or if your appearance changes in any major way.
