Delay Sending Messages In Gmail

Delay Sending Messages In Gmail

Do you ever press send and immediately notice a spelling or grammar mistake? Gmail has the solution. Undo Send is a function that allows you to delay sending messages so you can quickly undo it if you notice a mistake or want to change something. This isn’t a totally new feature in that it was always available in the Google Labs, but you no longer have to install it, it’s just there by default now. Here’s how to set it up in a few easy steps:

  1. In Gmail click the Gear icon and select SettingsDelay Sending Messages Via Gmail - Sharyn Munro Virtual Assistance
  2. In the General Tab, scroll down until you see Undo Send
  3. Make sure the checkbox next to Enable Undo Send is ticked
  4. Select the cancellation period you want (between 5 and 30 seconds)
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes

Now when you send an email there will be a link to UNDO or View Message. Click Undo and the send will be cancelled and the message opened so you can make any changes you want, or discard it.
