Love Your Virtual Assistant And Get Awesome Results

Here’s a little infographic I made in the spirit of Valentines Day (you know how I love a theme) about how to have a great relationship with your Virtual Assistant. You are always going to get the best results from excellent communication and a great relationship, so it’s 100% worth taking the time to get it right and love your virtual assistant.

In the past, I’ve written quite a lot about how to develop a great relationship with your Virtual Assistant, so if you’re looking for more have a browse through my categories Working With A Virtual Assistant and What is a Virtual Assistant.  What it comes down to though is communication.  If you can keep the communication strong and be very clear about what you want done, you’re going to end up with what you want.  You don’t have to micromanage or dictate every step of the process – a good Virtual Assistant should know how to do the work and be able to manage their time appropriately.  What they won’t know is how you specifically like things done.

For example, if you like all your documents to be typed in 10 point Arial – you need to specify that. If you prefer your customer service emails to go out with a certain style of writing, you need to specify that (and maybe provide examples).

Lastly, when things are done in a way you don’t particularly like, or there’s a small error that’s occurring regularly, or anything else happens that’s small but means you need to make corrections – make sure to bring it up with your Virtual Assistant. There’s a really good chance that it’s being done deliberately, with good intention and your Virtual Assistant will continue doing it until you let them know it’s not what you want.

So keep the communication happening, be specific and build trust and you’ll find you end up with an incredibly productive relationship that requires little instruction or correction that saves you a heap of time each day.
