How A Virtual Assistant Can Help With Taking Your Networking To The Next Level

Because networking is s a personal interaction you may think there’s not much that your Virtual Assistant can do to help.  In reality there’s a lot that your Virtual Assistant can do that will help with being organised and taking your networking to the next level, both in person and online.

While there’s no help for it, you actually have to get out and do the networking, there are a lot of things that can be done before and after that can help you focus your networking and follow up with new connections.

Online

When it comes to online networking, it’s very easy to have a slapdash style where you just connect with everyone possible on as many networks as possible and hope that you meet the right people. Alternatively, you can target your audience and network with a purpose. Some of the things a Virtual Assistant can do to help you with your online networking are:

  1. Researching your target industries to find out which social networks they use most
  2. Finding people who meet your targeted audience
  3. Researching hashtag conversations you should be aware of
  4. Monitoring your social media analytics to see when is the best time for you to post for maximum engagement
  5. Creating posts from your content
  6. Scheduling posts for times when they’ll get the most views
  7. Find similar contacts from a key contacts “following” list
  8. Finding content published by others to reshare with your network

 In person

In person networking is generally a little less targeted than online networking, because you’re somewhat limited by geography. That said, there are so many networking functions and networking groups that there’s sure to be one that suits you.  Some of the things you Virtual Assistant can do to help you get more out of face to face networking is:

  1. Typing up contacts from business cards
  2. Making appointments for meetings or coffee catch-ups
  3. Finding appropriate networking events for you to attend
  4. Taking care of RSVPs and payment for events
  5. Diarising events for you
  6. Keeping backup details of where and when events are on (and a backup copy of your e-ticket)
  7. Entering prospects into your CRM
  8. Following up with information or meeting requests etc to people you met at the event.

So while that’s not everything a Virtual Assistant can do to help with taking your networking to the next level, it’s a great start.  Apart from the bit that actually involves getting out there, they can help with pretty much everything else.

What parts of your networking would you like someone to take off your hands? For me, it would have to be the bit where you first walk into a room, particularly if I don’t know anyone who will be there. I’m fine once I’ve been there for a while, but I hate walking into the room.
