Finding the right Virtual Assistant for you will be a lot easier now that you understand what the options are. Just think about what you need and how you like to work and you can search for a Virtual Assistant that matches your style.  Some of the things you might want to consider are:

Programs and systems:

Is the Virtual Assistant experienced in the programs and systems you use? What programs and systems do they use? How do they ensure information is kept safe? What kind of internet connection do they have? Mac or PC? None of these may be deal breakers, or even of interest to you. Maybe they all are. Just decide before you start looking which things are essential, which would be nice and which don’t matter.

Communication:

Communication methods are the same, and finding a VA whose preferred communication methods match your own will make communication easier on you both.

Specialities:

If you just want help with a specific task, find a VA that specialises in it. If you want general help with all your administrative tasks, get a generalist.

Team or Solo

There’s nothing wrong with asking potential VA’s whether they work alone, as part of a team, with a network they can go to for backup etc – and I’d definitely be wary of anyone who couldn’t or wouldn’t answer the question. None of the options are better or worse than the others, it’s all just a different style.
