Download Your LinkedIn Data
It’s important to remember that any data you have on social media is easily lost. If you break (or are suspected of) breaking the terms of service, if your account is hacked, if the platform ceases to operate or changes in a meaningful way – all may result in you losing some or all of your data. The best way to prevent that is to download your data occasionally.
LinkedIn makes it quite easy to download some or all of your data. Here’s how to do it for yourself:
- In LinkedIn click on Me (the circle with your image in the menu bar)
- Select Settings & Privacy
- A new tab will open, click on Privacy
- Then scroll down to How LinkedIn uses your data
- Click Download your data
- Under Pick and Choose, select what you want to download
- Click Request archive
- Enter your password and click Done
- If you wait, the download will be available shortly or, log out and LinkedIn will send you an email when it’s ready to download
