Getting More From Microsoft365

Getting more from Microsoft365 is a topic has recently come up with several of my clients. And in doing research for them, I’ve found lots of cool stuff for me. So I figured that you might get something out of it too.

Here are 10 tools that are already included with your Microsoft365 business subscription (or are just freely available) that will help you to get more from Microsoft 365 (and often save money by cancelling other subscriptions).

Bookings

Bookings is an online appointment setting tool. It can replace other paid tools like Calendly or Acuity.  It’s not available on all Microsoft365 subscriptions, so check if you have access before you cancel anything.

Forms

Forms is the tool to do surveys and collect information from clients. It could replace things like SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, JotForm, Zoho Forms etc.

OneDrive

Microsoft356 subscriptions offer 1TB of storage per person – which is probably enough for many businesses. Additional storage can be purchased if needed. It could be used to replace a paid Dropbox subscription.

OneNote

OneNote is something I don’t use a lot, but it’s an easy way to store notes and snippets of information. It could replace Evernote, Google Keep (if that still exists) and Zoho Notes.

Planner

Planner is a tool to keep track of your work. It would replace things like Trello, Asana and Monday.

Power Automate

Power Automate is a program to make different programs talk to each other. It would replace Zapier and IFTTT. It’s also worth noting that it doesn’t just work with Microsoft Products. It works with a whole heap of other programs.

Teams

Teams is the tool for video meetings, calls and chat. It could replace Skype, Zoom, Slack, What’s App etc.

ToDo

ToDo is just what it says, it’s a task app that will keep track of your tasks.

Visio

Visio is a program that lets you make great looking flowcharts and diagrams that can then be saved as Visio files, PDF or images.

Whiteboard

Whiteboard is a way to take notes in meetings and when brainstorming. You can type directly on the board or add a document. You can pin sticky notes, add shapes, images and emoticon reactions.  There are templates for various uses. Whiteboard could replace Mural.
