I think that it’s probably focussed more at hiring on the “cheaper” end of the scale because at times it seems like there’s an expectation that professionalism should not necessarily be expected (Of course it should! You shouldn’t’ need to pat your VA on the head if they get a simple task right!).
That said, it a Virtual Assistant is most useful when you “Assign all recurring tasks that distract from your core duties” and it’s imperative that you “Give precise instructions” and “Be explicit about the deliverables you expect“. But a professional Virtual Assistant should be able to establish processes on their own, particularly for simple tasks.
