Virtual Assistant Checklist – Do You Need A VA?

Have you ever wondered whether you need a VA? Are you a bit on the fence about hiring a Virtual Assistant? Do you think it sounds lovely, but worry about the cost?

I’ve created a checklist to guide you towards making the decision that’s best for your business.

Virtual Assistant Checklist - Do You Need A VA? - Sharyn Munro Virtual Assistance

You can either  fill it out online, DOWNLOAD the Excel version (which will do the calculations for you) or PRINT the PDF version to fill out by hand.

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1Read through the Virtual Assistant Checklist and type a character in the Need Help? column for everything that is a problem for your business.  It doesn’t matter whether it’s a problem because you dislike it, because you don’t have the time, equipment or knowledge to do it, or even just because it always seems to be a problem for you.

Step 2Note down approximately how much time you’d spend working on or procrastinating about the task each month. (A guesstimate is OK)

Step 3At the end of each section you will see a total number of ticks and the total amount of time you estimate each task would take. A Grand Total is at the bottom of the table.

Step 4.  If you have 4 ticks in any section, then you should definitely consider outsourcing.

Step 5If you have a total of 15 ticks altogether, you need a VA and should definitely consider outsourcing.

Step 6.  If you’re still unsure of the value of outsourcing, multiply the total time spent on the activities by your hourly value and see how much you could save by passing those tasks off to someone who will probably be quicker than you at many of them.
