Shareable on Social Media

While we all know that a cute or funny animal image will get the best engagement online. If you have a professional brand, particularly a service based one, it’s hard to share your knowledge and expertise through cute cat pictures. A well written blog post (or recorded podcast or filmed vlog) gives you a platform to let potential clients know that you are an expert in your field. It also gives you a point to break down any barriers they have that are stopping them from calling you.

Generate website traffic

There are multiple ways a blog will generate web traffic. It generates regular web traffic as new posts are shared on your social media accounts. And, if you pay a little attention to SEO when you’re posting, it keeps on generating traffic through search results. Then you’ll also have regular readers who access posts through RSS, email or just a routine of checking out your site on a regular basis. Lastly, you can get traffic from others sharing your posts on their social media accounts.

Show your expertise

Finally, once you’ve got people looking at your blog. You can dazzle them with your knowledge of the industry. More importantly, you have an opportunity to show potential customers how you will solve their problem. Blogs give you a chance to talk to the people you’ll never actually get in front of in any other way. So it’s the perfect vehicle to show how good you are at what you do, and to share a bit of who you are so that they know who they’ll be working with.

Blogging for business is a great way to build an audience and share what’s so special about you and your business. Best of all, after a few years of regular blogging, you’ll have a heap of content that you can recycle and update.  So don’t wonder “why should I blog”. Instead, give it a try for a couple of months and see the impact it makes first hand.
