Getting Organised: Things You Need To Know Before You Hire A Virtual Assistant

It may seem like a contradiction, but the more organised you are when looking for a Virtual Assistant, the better and more effective the result you’ll get. It doesn’t mean that you need to be on top and in control before you hire a Virtual Assistant, but a little time and preparation before you start can make all the difference to how well a Virtual Assistant works for you.

Many of my earlier posts help guide you through the issues to consider when you’re getting started with a Virtual Assistant. Some of the most useful for the total outsourcing novice are:

Restaurant & Cafe MindMap - Sharyn Munro Virtual Assistance

Also, you can check out pretty much anything in the Working With A Virtual Assistant category and a lot of the posts in the What Is A Virtual Assistant category  also provide hints on how to get the best from a relationship with a Virtual Assistant.

To help you get an idea of the frustrations you can encounter when trying to get organised, on the right is a mind-map I created for Café & Restaurant clients to help them figure out which areas they most need help with. Even though it was created for one specific industry, most of the issues are similar in other industries.

Lastly, here’s an excellent infographic from Chris Ducker  giving tips on how to get the best out of a relationship with a Virtual Assistant – my favourite is #9 🙂

So, hopefully you’re feeling a bit more confident about getting a Virtual Assistant to help you get organised and on top of everything.
